MODULE 1: GETTING READY TO LEARN

Making Transition:

Transition is the process of going from one state or situation to another. As everyone knows, living in a university and a high school varies greatly. Being apart from our family, making new acquaintances from other states, and adjusting to a new environment all require independence. Here are a few examples of how high school and university differ:

8 STEPS TO SUCCESS:

STEP 1: ATTEND ALL CLASSES
- The most important things is attend all classes because that is where we get our lecture about                   everything we learn.

STEP 2: BECOME AN ACTIVE LEARNER
- To become an active learner, we have to explore related topics to get more understanding in learning.

STEP 3: PARTICIPATE IN CLASS
- You need to be an active person in the class, for instance asking to the lecturer the question that you         don't understand.

STEP 4: GET TO KNOW YOUR LECTURE
- As a student we must alert and know every names of our lecturer.

STEP 5: FORM STUDY GROUP WITH FRIENDS
- Do the discussion within the group to enhancing the quality of study.

STEP 6: STAY UP TO DATE WITH YOUR WORK
- We need to alert with the due date for task given and always submit them on time.

STEP 7: BE RECEPTIVE TO CHANGE
- We must get to know about our learning style to make our study be more effective and efficient.

STEP 8: WORK HARD THIS SEMESTER
- Change your mindset to do all the positive things to help you achieve success.

LEARNING STYLE:

Every student learns in a unique way. For instance, some students like studying in a calm area with few outside interruptions, whereas others enjoy studying while listening to their favourite music. Knowing your own preferred method of learning whether it be visual, kinesthetic  or auditory are important. You could talk to the counsellor about it or demonstrate your learning style by doing some online tests. The following are some contrasts between kinesthetic, visual, and auditory learning styles.
